Even when successful you can have things go wrong. However, it is what you do with those failures that really help to step up in skills.
The best thing you can do when you get done with a project is to stop and think through the work. While thinking through everything think about all of the steps, what went good? and what went bad?
In this episode I discuss each of the things that I came across that went wrong, and my attempt at how to rectify those problems. Or if I don’t have a solution what I plan to do to figure one out. Fortunately, or unfortunately, some of these problems are just a purchase away. Others are woodworking skill development.
Ok, sounds like you had a interesting week. On the drill bits vs sharpener. If you go out and have to get a new bit every time one is broke or dulled how much scrap metal are you going to build up and have laying around plus the added time to go get a new bit or finding a new bit. Where if you had a sharpener your down time is only how long it takes to setup the sharpener and sharpen the bit. So instead of being shut down for a half to whole day going to town or waiting on the mail you will be down say only 30 minutes to an hour. There were other thoughts but I am out of time for now.
That is very true. I hadn’t thought about that.
Thank you!!1
